Makrana Marble

Makrana marble is one of the most preferred ornamental and masonry stones from India that finds its usage in several spectacular heritage buildings and monuments within the country and abroad. Makrana is a location in the Nagaur district, Rajasthan where the marble itself is called Makrana marble. It is also known as milky white marble and Taj Mahal marble.

    Makrana marble is a metamorphic rock. Makrana marble has white, grey, and panther-brown color tones on its surface. The Makrana marble has 90 to 98 percent CaCo3, which gives it a long-lasting life. This marble is given a different name according to the design and finishing of the marble. Makrana marble is the world’s oldest and highest-quality marble. This is practically proven by the buildings and countless temples, mosques, churches, and monuments that have been constructed across India for over a thousand years. Thus, the 300+ year life of makrana stones is confirmed. Moreover, it is free from any chemical treatment, therefore, it does not change color and neither develops pinholes nor loses polish with time. Its crystalline granoblastic, dense, and interconnecting structure reduces porosity and increases resistance and durability.
